The Boss
Born in a small Chinese village with no paved roads, no plumbing, no electricity. A champion hurdler for all of China. An IBM electrical engineer. And then — the force that turned a fledgling pool business into a juggernaut.
Sheila runs the operation with the precision of an engineer and the determination of a raging bull. She manages the schedule, tests water chemistry on professional-grade computer equipment, and refuses to oversell a single chemical. Her business plan is simple: solve the problem, earn the trust, keep the customer for life.

A 13-year-old Dutch Holland builds his first swimming pool in the Adirondack Mountains with his father and brother. Ten pools that summer. A lifetime of craft begins.
Dutch teaches at a university in Qingdao, China, where he meets Sheila — a champion hurdler, track coach, and the sharpest person he'll ever know.
Back in the U.S., with two young children and a dream, Dutch and Sheila launch Holland Pools in Poughkeepsie. Sheila's father joins as Dutch's right hand.
Word of mouth becomes their only advertising. Ever. Zero dollars spent on ads. The calendar fills itself through quality work and honest conversation.
Dutch earns the highest level in the Northeast Pool & Spa Professionals Association — master of construction and maintenance. The Zen of Swimming Pools deepens.
